Someone asked me the other day if blogging on WordPress is done by simply typing like you would in (say) Word, or if you need to engage with HTML coding.
HTML coding and I have no relationship at all: we are certainly not engaged …
There’s a buffer between the user and the coding. So you just type what you want. I usually type my reviews into Word and copy them across.
If you’re using WordPress’s new basic format you can engage with what they now call ‘blocks’. I have, actually, no idea what they mean by that, nor what it provides that I might conceivably need, nor how it gets put on the page. There’s a sort of magical shuffle happens when I upload what I want to share and there it is, lying elegantly on the page.
You can use some HTML. If you want to. For example to make an ‘anchor’ or other link. But it is (thanks be) not obligatory.
Which is all to say, WYSI pretty much WYG.
