A pome wot I wrote

I’m very conscious that almost everything on this site so far is something you can read elsewhere. I’m hoping it’s useful to have everything in one place. But enough with cudgelling you to read the opus. Here’s something else.

I write rather a lot of poetry, and it turns up in anthologies here and there. This one has never been anthologised, and it’s one of the few SF pomes – sorry, poems – that I’ve written. Hope you like it.

A street light flickers
sending a lack-lustre message
into the night sky:

’Nothing works here.
We are stranded.
Come and fetch us home.’
