This book would make a great film! I read this as a scientific thriller, with the right amount of romantic interest alongside. The story hooked me in very quickly and I was soon caught up in a state of willingly suspended disbelief regarding the likelihood of the nanonics plot. The author cleverly provides enough scientific detail to make the plot plausible, without going into technical detail which would lose the reader. The characters are interesting and complex – while I empathised with facets of each character, I did not wholeheartedly like any of them – including the dead ones… but by the end, you are rooting for them. All thrillers have to have a chase element, and this certainly has – but the author has contrived a comic but believable element to the chase, so that the book defies definite pigeon-holing.
